Platform API Rate Limits

Voxica connects to Instagram and YouTube through their official APIs to fetch your posts, videos, and comments. These platforms impose rate limits on all third-party applications — including Voxica. These limits are set by Meta (Instagram) and Google (YouTube), not by us.

Instagram Graph API

  • •200 API calls per hour per user — this is a hard limit set by Meta for all Instagram Business/Creator accounts.
  • •Each post analysis uses approximately 2-5 API calls (fetching the post details + its comments).
  • •If you hit the rate limit, Voxica will automatically queue remaining requests and resume when the limit resets.
  • •Only Instagram Business or Creator accounts are supported — personal accounts do not have API access.

YouTube Data API v3

  • •10,000 quota units per day — this is a daily limit set by Google. Different operations cost different amounts of quota.
  • •Listing videos costs 1 unit per request. Fetching comment threads costs 1 unit per request (returns up to 100 comments each).
  • •In practice, this allows analyzing approximately 50-100 videos with full comments per day, depending on comment volume.
  • •The quota resets daily at midnight Pacific Time (PT).

Important: These rate limits are enforced by Instagram and YouTube, not by Voxica. Even on our highest-tier plans, these platform limits still apply. Your Voxica subscription determines how many comments and posts we store and analyze for you — the platform APIs control how fast we can fetch that data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my analysis taking a long time?
This is likely due to Instagram or YouTube's API rate limits. When we hit the limit, we queue your request and automatically resume when the limit resets. Instagram resets hourly, YouTube resets daily at midnight PT.
I'm on a paid plan but still seeing slow fetching. Why?
Your Voxica plan controls how many comments and posts we analyze and store. The speed at which we can fetch data from Instagram or YouTube is governed by their API rate limits, which apply equally to all users regardless of subscription tier.
Why do I need an Instagram Business or Creator account?
Instagram's Graph API only grants access to Business and Creator accounts. Personal accounts don't have API access, so Voxica cannot fetch posts or comments from them. You can switch your account type for free in the Instagram app settings.
What counts toward my monthly comment limit?
Each comment that Voxica fetches and runs sentiment analysis on counts toward your monthly limit. The limit resets on the first of each month. Previously analyzed comments remain available and don't count again.
Can I get more comment capacity without upgrading my plan?
Yes — paid plans offer comment capacity add-ons so you can increase your monthly limit without changing your plan tier. See the pricing page for details.
